Hollywood Is All About The Stars
Woke up in Santa Barbara with a view of the Pacific Ocean from our bed. Took a nice stroll early in morning with my dogs on the beach and when we got back to the hotel, I made myself a cup of coffee and sat on the patio for a long time just enjoying life, watching people jogging on the beach, and thinking about my new job I’m starting in about a week...
After breakfast, it was time to get ready to drive to Los Angeles. I’ve been there several times, but way too long ago so it was interesting to see how much the city actually had changed.
What do you do when you’ve only got 24 hours to spend in LA? I decided to drive to the beach, Venice Beach to be more exact and stroll around among people riding their bicycles and enjoying the sunny weather. Then we drove to Marina del Rey and later Beverly Hills before I took off for a hike by the Hollywood Sign. For those of you who have been following me for a while, I’m doing the 52 Hiking Challenge this year, and you also know how obsessed we’re about hiking in our family so a hike was definitely prioritized. We did the Hollywood Sign via Canyon Drive and the Hollyridge Trail. It turned out to be 6.5 miles; 1,135 ft elevation. And let me tell you...it was fantastic to hike both in the front and behind the Hollywood sign! Not a very typical tourist attraction, but rather locals walking their dogs. I highly recommend doing these hikes if you’re planning on going to LA on vacation.
We spent the night at the Beverly Hills Hilton, such a nice little treat before we left the city.
